This past week, with the support from UNAIDS and Reckitt Benckiser Group plc, Women Fighting AIDS in Kenya (WOFAK) and Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS in Kenya (NEPHAK) wereprivileged to receive food and hygiene kits for People Living with HIV and Key Populations.
On Monday 8th June, UNAIDS conducted a mini launch at WOFAK offices of the food basket for the communities. The food baskets contained: sugar, maize flour, rice, cooking oil, maize, greengrams, beans, soap, sanitizer and sanitary towels. This was attended by partners including NACC and NASCOP. The aim of this initiative is to ensure that communities have basic commodities to help them during this pandemic.

1. Job Summary:
The position is responsible for providing support to program/project implementation in monitoring and measuring the impact of programs and activities; development and implementation of M&E systems focused on data collection, storage, analysis and reporting; providing technical assistance in gathering and management of data; ensure the use of technically appropriate monitoring and evaluation models and information systems; and dissemination of relevant information to stakeholders.

T.1 Support the development and oversee the use of monitoring systems with accompanying Standard Operation Procedures to track, capture, report and document on program/project activities and results.
T.2 Lead the successful roll out and implementation of all design monitoring and evaluation (DME) related initiatives.

1. Job Summary:
The position is responsible for supervising field agents and ensure the quality of the Saving & Internal Lending Communities(SILC)groups they form and roll out of other economic Strengthening activities and ensure the project meets its objectives and targets.
2. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
R1. Implementation of Program and Project Activities
T.1 Works with the Field Agents to develop responsive monthly workplans and ensures implementation of the plans and prudent utilization of resources.
T.2 Holds regular Field Agent meetings and community meetings to review progress, address emerging issues and plan for subsequent actions.
T.3 Coordinate all support supervision activities by Field Agents ensuring that SILC groups and beneficiaries are adequately provided with the support they need.
T.4 Continually communicates to the HES Officer on project progress, challenges and support required to deliver on the project objectives.
T.5 Ensures that all the activities being implemented are conducted within a process that enhances community ownership, participation and contribution for sustainability.
R2. Coordination of Support to Orphans and Venerable Children (OVC)
T.1 Work closely with the HES Officer, Project Coordinator and Case Management officer to develop case plans and support implementation of HES interventions.
T.2 Supports project team members in implementation of key activities that includes: recruit Field Agents, Map and define agent operating areas, support agent certification, PSP launches and PSP network formation.
T.3 Train and mentor Field Agents to deliver services to OVC caregivers.
R3. Coordination of Income Generation Activities
T.1 Facilitate and coordinate Income Generating Activities (IGA) and revolving funds
T.2 Assist community groups assimilate the idea of growing their own food to provide for family needs and enhance their nutritional status.
T.3 Monitor the groups’ progress and recommend different groups for training when need arises
T.4 Participate in exposure trips with different groups when opportunity arises
T.5 Ensure any new information on farming techniques is shared with the groups.
T.6 Assist in the establishment of demonstration farm and ensure that the progress is monitored well.
R4. Monitoring, Evaluation and Knowledge Management
T.1 Conducts structured support supervisions and spot checks to Field agents, SILC groups and other HES initiatives at the HH level to ensure quality service delivery to OVC and their caregivers.
T.2 Review data collection forms before entry to SILC MIS to ensure accuracy of data.
T.3 Participate in data review meetings together with the project team to ensure effective data entry, analysis, reporting and accountability for results.
T.4 Supports project team members to identify, document, and disseminate knowledge products to build on evidence based practices in Household Economic strengthening initiatives.
T.5 Responsible for timely monthly and quarterly reporting to the HES officer.
R5. Management of Financial and Other Resources
T.1 Adhere to financial policies and procedures to ensure effective management of organization resources; funding, expenditures, inventories, and receivables.
T.2 Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
T.3 Carry out project activities as per budget lines and charge expenditures against the appropriate budget line and limits, and adhere to donor regulations/agreements and statutory requirements.
T.4 Participate in budget monitoring and controls.
R6. Quality Assurance and Learning
T.1 Facilitate and provide results from program indicators that measure progress, effectiveness and success of program/project implementation activities.
T.2 Assist in undertaking monitoring of developments in Kenya in program design and implementation that have bearing on WOFAK and its members/affiliates, and advice on any major changes and likely impact on target communities.
T.3 Assist in coordination of monitoring, evaluation, and assessment activities and use results to enhance program work and promote sharing of experiences and learning both internally and externally.
T.4 Assist in research to support project/program design and implementation activities; build case studies, and conducting operations research to inform project/program activities and agendas.
T.5 Support in the documentation and synthesis of lessons, experiences and case studies from program implementation processes and disseminate within the organization and externally to affiliates/members, partners and other stakeholders to support continuous improvement of capacity building, networking and partnerships.
R7. Reporting
T.1 Provide accurate records and statistics to support timely and quality reporting on activities of the project’s implementation as per organization’s schedules and donor regulations and agreements.
T.2 Assist in compiling monthly, quarterly and other periodic reports.
T.3 Assist in both internal and external grants reporting processes.
R8. Relationship Management, Networking and Partnerships
T.1 Establish cordial working relations with the local community, local government administration, and other development partners.
T.2 Maintain productive relationships with stakeholders, peers and likeminded organization that work in similar field as WOFAK.
T.3 Participate in forums that will create visibility and a positive public image of WOFAK.
T.4 Participate in public forums and functions/workshops and seminars on invitation, and actively participate to promote thematic areas of work and program/project activities.
T.5 Promote effective partnership and networking with stakeholders; local community, local administration and County government, government ministries, departments and agencies, media, private sector, peers and likeminded organizations, civil society organizations and general public.
T.6 Maintain profitable networks with other organizations which contribute to building of a positive image for WOFAK.
R9. Carry out any other duties and responsibilities which may be assigned by the management time to time.
3. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
a. Level of Education
· Diploma in business administration, community development
b. Specialized Training/Professional Qualifications
- Previous experience working with decentralized, community-based projects
- Previous experience with savings group programming is preferred
c. Competencies/Abilities/Skills Required
